General Caulfield's Military Road, built between 1748 and 1752, crosses the River Orchy here, before heading around Mam Carraigh towards Inveroran and across the Rannoch Moor. The West Highland Way also crosses the bridge, but then winds up over the shoulder of Mam Carraigh before descending slowly down to Inveroran
