Like the Kelpies themselves, the Maquettes were designed by Andy Scott and are built from galvanised steel. At 3m high, they are 1/10th of the size of the real thing.
The Maquettes are not lit up at night. I took a 25 second exposure, stood to the side, and lit them up by running my head torch around them.
