The Darn Road is an ancient trackway that runs along the eastern bank of the Allan Water between Bridge of Allan and Dunblane, in the Stirling council area of Scotland. Local legend says that it was used by the Romans.
The name Darn is derived from Dobhran, the old Gaelic for water. The present Darn Walk, which follows the line of the Darn Road, was developed as a pleasure walk in the late nineteenth century as Bridge of Allan grew as a spa town and holiday destination.
