Why not take a look at my other pictures of the Scottish Highlands and Islands.
The 21 arches of the Glenfinnan Viaduct carry the West Highland Railway Line across Glenfinnan. The viaduct overlooks the Glennfinnan Monument and Loch Shiel.

The viaduct was commissioned by the West Highland Railway Company in 1897. Engineered by Simpson and Wilson of Glasgow, and built by contractors Robert McAlpine & Sons, it was completed in 1898 at a total cost of £18,904. It is 1,248 feet long, and carries the railway around 100 feet above the River Finnan.

The West Highland Line carries the UK's last remaining regular steam service, The Jacobite, which runs daily between Fort William and Mallaig. The train doubled up as the Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter films, which featured the Glenfinnan Viaduct extensively.
